ANS Rewire
-
ANS Rewire is a neuroplasticity-based online programme designed to retrain the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) - the part of the nervous system responsible for regulating things like heart rate, digestion, sleep, and energy. It’s based on the idea that conditions like ME/CFS, fibromyalgia, and POTS are often linked to a dysregulated or “stuck” nervous system that has become overly reactive.
The programme is self-paced, online, and video-led, developed by Dr. Dan Neuffer - a former physicist and ME/CFS patient who recovered using a combination of mind-body techniques and scientific understanding of the ANS.
-
ANS Rewire combines education, brain retraining, and lifestyle reconditioning.
Here’s what’s included:
Neuroplasticity training: Techniques to rewire automatic stress responses and calm the ANS
Pacing strategies: Managing exertion and avoiding crashes
Cognitive and behavioural techniques: Managing beliefs, thoughts, and emotional triggers
Mind-body tools: Guided meditations, visualisation, breathing, and nervous system calming practices
Lifestyle modules: Guidance on sleep, nutrition, mindset, socialising, and relapse prevention
The idea is to gradually shift the body out of chronic “fight/flight/freeze” mode and allow natural healing to resume.
-
No coaching is required but optional one-on-one sessions can be booked.
ANS Rewire has a strong following and has helped many, but like all neuroplasticity tools, it requires daily commitment.
Less well-known than Gupta or DNRS, but more science-focused and structured.
Dr. Neuffer’s book CFS Unravelled is a good starting point for understanding his model.
