  • Russ Seigenberg is a psychologist who lived with ME/CFS for six years before fully recovering, and has now been well for forty years. His new programme Power Up – CFS Recovery is based on his book Power Up and is currently offered free while in development. It combines group discussions, written materials, and practical exercises designed to build genuine body energy.

    • Centred on Russ’s Five-Factor Protocol (medical care, diet and nutrition, pacing, mental health, and exercise).

    • Introduces a new hypothesis that the body can store energy in ways not explained by ATP or glycogen, helping to account for the variance in stamina between individuals.

    • Provides specific exercises to build energy reserves, allowing participants to test the method for themselves.

    • Russ believes people can prove the method works within a month, with full recovery typically taking 6 months to 2 years.

    • Delivered through live Zoom classes twice a month (2nd and 4th Wednesday at 4 p.m. EST), plus free written materials and the book.

    • No sign-up required, participants simply join via the instructions on the website.

  • Unlike brain retraining programmes, which suggest fatigue is caused by the brain misinterpreting danger signals, Russ argues that the fatigue and low energy are real. His approach is designed to show participants how to exercise correctly in a way that builds energy rather than depletes it. His ideas may sound too good to be true, but are based on both his own recovery and more recent experiences with long Covid.

  • This programme and its companion book Power Up are both newly launched, so participant and reader feedback is not yet available. As people begin to take part in the free live classes and engage with the material, insights from their experiences will be added here.

  • Ongoing. Bi-weekly Zoom classes with no fixed end date.

Free materials and recordings can be revisited anytime.

  • Classes run live on US Eastern Standard Time (EST).

International participants may need to adjust for time zone differences, but materials are available globally.

    • Programme: free while in development.

    • Book Power Up: $21.95 USD (USA, paperback).

    • PDF version: $10 (recommended for international participants to avoid shipping costs).

    • Currently free while the programme is in development.
