  • The Switch® is a four-day immersive recovery programme created by Mel Abbott, who has worked with thousands of clients living with chronic illness. It combines neuroplasticity training, emotional release, lifestyle change, and stress regulation tools to help participants shift out of illness patterns and regain health.

    • Starts with a free introductory webinar explaining common recovery “traps” and key tools to break them.

    • The main programme is a 4-day live group training (in person or online), with practical techniques such as the Quick Switch (rapid symptom-shifting), the Deep Switch (emotional release process), and lifestyle change integration.

    • A pre-recorded webinar series is also available for those unable to attend live.

    • Follow-up support includes calls, written materials, and membership group access.

    • The Switch® blends elements of NLP, neuroplasticity-based exercises, trauma release, and lifestyle tools.

    • It is designed as a group experience, but there are options for self-paced online learning.

    • It has been featured in independent podcasts and media as a recovery option for long Covid and ME/CFS.

  • Based on participant stories and interviews across independent podcasts and media:

    • Tools like the Quick Switch were valued for giving people a sense of agency and a way to interrupt symptoms in real time (empowertherapies.co.nz).

    • The Deep Switch emotional release process was described by participants as “therapy on steroids,” helping to release trapped emotions more effectively than traditional talk therapy (empowertherapies.co.nz).

    • Group support and shared recovery experiences were seen as motivating, helping participants stay hopeful (podcasts.apple.com).

    • Many participants highlight rapid, tangible improvements — from fewer crashes to returning to normal daily activity — as a major source of encouragement (empowertherapies.co.nz).

    • Webinar Series (recorded, one-year access): NZ$997 (~US$600)

    • Live 4-Day Group Programme: NZ$2,197 (~US$1,300), includes manual, follow-ups, and group access

    • No standing public discounts currently listed.

    • Payment plans are sometimes available for the live course.

    • Occasional offers or bundled pricing appear through email sign-up or introductory webinars.
