The Dynamic Neural Retraining System (DNRS) is a neuroplasticity-based programme designed to rewire the brain and calm an overactive limbic system. Developed by Annie Hopper, it is used by people with conditions such as fibromyalgia, ME/CFS, multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS), POTS, and chronic pain. DNRS combines daily “rounds” (structured mental rehearsal practices) with tools for shifting thoughts, emotions, and behaviours to support recovery.
-
Core content is delivered through a 14-hour video programme which participants work through at their own pace.
Daily practice involves doing “rounds” — structured visualisation and cognitive exercises — for about an hour per day.
The programme encourages positive emotional states, incremental progress, and rewiring of maladaptive patterns.
Optional group coaching calls, retreats, and an online community are also available
-
DNRS recommends committing to at least 6 months of daily practice for best results.
The programme has been around since 2008 and has built a large global community of users.
The language and style can feel prescriptive, which some find motivating and others find off-putting.

A user with MCAS said after five months of DNRS they had made “tons of progress” and felt more hopeful by seeing gradual improvements over time (reddit.com/r/MCASlink)
Another participant admitted they disliked the programme’s delivery and business model but still found DNRS “helped me dramatically, and I would do it again without hesitation” (reddit.com/r/MCASlink)
Someone in r/Fibromyalgia shared that after being bed bound for years, DNRS helped them return to full-time work, run a mile daily, and lift weights again — though they described the daily mental practice as “very intensive” (reddit.com/r/Fibromyalgialink)
A person in the SIBO community said DNRS gave them a way out of a constant fight-or-flight state, finding the rewiring approach useful and noticing shifts from even small, consistent practice (reddit.com/r/SIBOlink)
One POTS user said DNRS helped them incrementally “reassociate obstacles with positive emotions,” which reduced fear around triggers and made daily life less overwhelming (reddit.com/r/POTSlink)
In r/Anxiety, a user reported full recovery from fibro/ME/CFS and anxiety using DNRS, describing a major shift in emotional baseline with less fear and overwhelm (reddit.com/r/Anxietylink)
