The Chrysalis Effect is a structured online recovery programme designed for people with chronic fatigue, ME/CFS, fibromyalgia, and other fatigue-related illnesses. Created by Elaine Wilkins, who recovered after six years of illness, the programme blends educational content, coaching, and community support to help participants make lifestyle, mindset, and physical changes that encourage recovery.
-
The programme is delivered online through video modules, audio lessons, workbooks, and interactive exercises. Participants progress through topics covering nutrition, pacing, stress management, nervous system regulation, and emotional wellbeing. One-to-one coaching sessions and a peer support community are available for extra guidance and accountability. The approach focuses on identifying and addressing the root causes of chronic illness and creating a personalised recovery plan.
-
While many participants share strong recovery stories, some people find the style of marketing intense or overly focused on success testimonials. The self-paced nature means motivation is key, and additional coaching may be needed for those who prefer more direct guidance.
-
One participant explained: "It helped me address emotional, physical and lifestyle factors all at once, which made recovery sustainable."
-
£37.50 per month for the online programme, no contract
Practitioner coaching fees vary - typically £50–£90 per session
Recovery time is highly individual, but many participants work through the core programme over 6–12 months
-
14-day free trial of the full programme
Some practitioners offer sliding-scale fees or reduced rates for those on disability benefits or low income - worth enquiring directly
The online peer support community is included in the monthly cost, reducing the need for frequent one-to-one sessions
